The vision God has given to you for your life is calling out to you... are you willing to answer that call? What Abraham received from God was an incredible promise revealed to him by God; the promise was sealed in a covenant that God made with him personally. Sure it may not have been a personal mission statement but it was one that had redemption as its core principle. Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 12:1-3, ESV) God gave Abram a vision of the great future that was ahead of him. Abraham knew what God was able and willing to do. As I read this verse, I see that there are three things that this vision required Abram to do. 1. He had to be willing to leave where he was... "go from your country."2. He had to be willing to leave those with whom he lived... "from...your kindred."3. He had to be willing to go someplace he had never been... "to the land I will show you." True God-given vision will always require something of you. That is what vision is all about. What God required of Abram may be the same thing that He is requiring of you. Are you willing to burst forth and do it?
