Double Feature: Vol. 2
Kenton & Nova
Disc 1 - Stan Kenton's adept and fiery 1959 band flashing brilliance at the Blue Note in Chicago and New Jersey's Red Hill Inn. A diverse and appealing tune list, memorably performed. Disc 2 - The Nova Jazz Orchestra - Bill Mathieu, the architect of Kenton'e 1959 classic and highly praised 'Standards In Silhouettes' LP resurrects a bounty of forgotten pieces written for Stan's orchestra and never released by Capitol records.
