There are few record collecting experiences more enjoyable than discovering a great, long lost & forgotten gem, on the B-side of a classic, much-loved hit. This collection features 32 such killer flips, adorning various U.S. R&B hit 45s between 1954-1962. Many of these artistes, like Ben E. King, The Drifters, James Brown and Jackie Wilson, often enjoyed two-sided hits, yet these were B-sides that somehow got away. Singers like Dee Clark, Jerry Butler, Ruth Brown, Ray Charles, Roy Hamilton, Clyde McPhatter, LaVern Baker, The Shirelles, The Miracles, Mary Wells, The Marvelettes, Lloyd Price, Etta James, Bobby Bland etc. Were frequent R&B chart riders, while others eg. The Falcons, The Fiestas, Joe Henderson, were more or less One Hit Wonders. Many of the A-sides of these discs were million sellers, and all were massive U.S R&B hits (many of which crossed over to the Top 100), yet all of these Killer Bs sound like they could have been hit records, in their own right.
