The wind ensemble Les Vents Français and pianist Eric Le Sage have been described by Gramophone magazine as "a positive dream team". This adventurous 2-CD collection, Moderniste, spans the era from the late 19th to the early 21st century and comprises music by Albéric Magnard, Carl Nielsen, Darius Milhaud, André Jolivet and two contemporary composers, Philippe Hersant and Thierry Escaich, whose Osterlied and Mecanic Song here receive their world premiere recordings.
