Vintage Transport Collection Volume 2

Another collection of archive documentaries and films featuring vintage transport. In 'Serves You Right!' (1940) a training film made by Ford demonstrates the ideal way to treat customers when running a car repair shop. In 'Radio Cab Murder' (1954) former criminal turned taxi driver Fred Martin (Jimmy Hanley) is recruited by the police to act as an informant as they attempt to infiltrate a gang of safe robbers.

However, a number of mishaps result in Fred finding himself at the mercy of the criminals. In 'Round the World In 21 Days in an Austin' (1951) an Austin A40 Sports is driven around the world and accomplishes the feat in a record-breaking 21 days. In 'Echo - The Motor Car' archive footage explores the impact of the motor car in the late 1960s and early '70s.

In 'Rode Safely' (1955) a team of motorcyclists disclose potential hazards when riding in and around Merseyside. In 'Britain's Jet Planes' the ingenuity behind the design of the first gas turbine aero engine, designed by an RAF officer, is explored in detail. In 'All That Is England' Austin cars are shown off and the merits of the many different makes are showcased.

In 'Symphony for Steam' amateur footage of steam trains is collated from the 1950s. In 'The Three-Pointed Star' Daimler and Benz promote their partnership in the 1950s with a look at the origins of their iconic three-pointed star design. In 'Flying - Hendon Display' (1934) archive footage shows bold aerial displays performed by all manner of aircraft.

In 'Sports Cars Race in Snow' footage depicts race cars from the late 1950s and '60s racing through tracks covered in snow. In 'Let's Talk Steam Engines' the earliest steam engines are documented. In 'Holidays of 1938' one family document their holiday around Warwickshire, giving a rare glimpse into leisure time in England during the late 1930s.

In 'Dial-A-Bus in Harlow' (1974) archive footage from the 1970s showcases the beginnings of the latest bus scheme around Harlow, Essex. In 'Sons of the Sea' (1939) Leslie Banks stars as Captain Hyde, the new head of Dartmouth Training College whose predecessor was murdered. As he learns more about the killing Hyde grows suspicious that foreign agents may have infiltrated the college and fears for his own safety.

In 'Against the Tide' (1965) the crew of the Royal Life Boats, based in the North East of England, demonstrate how they operate when called upon. Finally, in 'Free Road' car racing is the focus for this documentary with footage depicting rallying in Switzerland as drivers prepare for race day and are then faced with tough decisions as they compete in all weathers.
