'SONGS OF A LOST WORLD' is geschreven en gearrangeerd door Robert Smith, geproduceerd en gemixt door Robert Smith & Paul Corkett en uitgevoerd door The Cure. Robert Smith creëerde ook het hoesconcept, terwijl Andy Vella, een oude medewerker van Cure, de albumhoezen en het ontwerp voor zijn rekening nam. Op de omslag staat 'Bagatelle' afgebeeld, een beeldhouwwerk uit 1975 van Janez Pirnat.
