Use the materials in this book to teach multisensory creative writing to your students. While originally designed for homeschoolers, other creative-writing teachers would benefit from these ideas as well. Here is the course description I use when advertising this class: This 12-week class was designed specifically with homeschoolers in mind. This class will teach students how to glean writing prompts from their surroundings and how to generate their own unique ideas for poems, stories, journaling, blogging, etc. During each weekly session, students will participate in a sensory activity that will enable them to brainstorm creative story ideas. Each activity will be followed by an in-class writing session. There will also be weekly homework. Assignment guidelines will be given, but depending on the ability and writing experience of the student, assignment length may be adjusted by each child's parent.
