This book is a spiritual approach to healing fractured lives. Coralie commits suicide and makes her transition to a sanatorium on Blue Island. She is participating in a project with four other ladies and a little girl. The project is organized and controlled by eight scholastic guardians. The project is progressing smoothly until Dora passes into the spirit world and enters the building. Though Coralie and Dora have both made their transitions to Blue Island; they experience the island's magical embrace differently.
