"Douglas is a traveler, culturally inspired and curious, who goes with adventurous companions to conventional destinations, but goes beyond the normal tourist process." I don't go to the far reaches. I'm not a traveler on the edge. The destinations I write about are not particularly risky, but almost all are charged culturally or aesthetically. That is, they are artistically rich locales of exceptional beauty. I wrote this collection of dispatches in real time while moving through Mexico, almost live to air, so to speak.
