The Rain That Stains
Jarel Jack
This is the second book of poetry by Jarel Jack. After the success of Genesis: Helped My Sentence, Jarel decides to delve deeper into issues that illustrate his personal thoughts and graphically depict his outlook on societal mishaps. Poems like "Beat The Odds" highlight his optimism to be a victor despite circumstances, while poems like "Disappointed" and "Stop The Shootings" display his potent rebuke of the criminal justice system and his hope for gun control to assure his daughter Genesis, safety in the world. "The Rain That Stains" explores scars of society that have affected the mind and fabric of our common daily lives. Jarel Jack's words are rain drops of ink needed to wash away those stains of pain and let the radiance of his poetry shine through the clouds of despair.
