VOICES is an anthology containing some of the best work of Five Towns Writers, a writers' workshop in a condominium community in northwest St. Petersburg, Florida. Some items are excerpts from works already published on Amazon Books, and some pieces were heretofore unpublished. Variety is the operative word-in genre, in topic, and in writing levels. All members who wished to submit were accepted although the editing process was rigorous. You will find essays, stories, nostalgia, novel chapters, tales for kids, and poems-fiction and non-fiction. Topics cover wise oaks, love affairs, camping, talking bats, quadroon culture, robot slaves, Alzheimer's victims, Vietnam battles, chicken killings, senior dating, trips to the Peruvian Amazon, Egypt and Mexico, cows, jail volunteers, mystical apartment fires, lost grandpas, weddings, sugar gliders (whatever they are), and gingerbread cookies-just for starts.
