Creative Entrepreneurship On A Smaller Scale
Walter Baker
Walter Baker arrived in Canada as a 19 year old. He knew no one and had no funds on which to draw except the minimum required for entry as a landed immigrant. He writes of his experiences since then as "a rich and rewarding career as a social worker, an educator, a public service executive, and a management consultant." We can add to that his graduation from Queen's University with an Honours degree in psychology, a Master's degree and Ph. D. in political studies and his role as professor at York, Toronto and Ottawa universities. With his wife, Barbara, he has also raised a family of five children, with this growing over the years to a family of 45. Walter has been involved in a series of entrepreneurial ventures, creating new organizations and revitalizing existing organizations. This book draws on stories and insights from his personal experiences as an entrepreneur and intrapreneur to describe the challenges, joys and pitfalls of entrepreneurship.
