This book provides worked solutions to the June 2002 to June 2008 Basic Proficiency Mathematics Examinations of the Caribbean Examinations Council. Although the Basic Proficiency has now been discontinued, the 'Basic' past papers remain a very fertile resource for students preparing for the CSEC Mathematics Exam at the end of Form 5. Students as early as Form 2 right up to Form 5 will find this book extremely useful. In addition to the solutions themselves, the step-by-step approach to solving exam problems is repeatedly demonstrated on a typical sized sheet on which most students will do their maths exams. It is to be noted however that this book will be totally useless if one attempts to use it as a replacement for the repetitious practice that must be undertaken in order to develop some level of competence in the subject matter of the CSEC Mathematics syllabus. Used as an aide to hard work and conscious effort, 'Basic Maths Solutions for CSEC' will be an invaluable tool as the platform of fundamentals is put into place, providing solid ground to move on to the more difficult aspects of the CSEC Mathematics syllabus.
