Spoor Chris Heape 1e uitgave

Losing time, a retired photographer with failing eyesight, Sam Hythe, revisits the area where he lived as a child to help him solve the tragedy that befell his family when he was twelve.

Plagued with not knowing the truth, nor his role in what took place, his greatest fear is not finding the closure he yearns for and to die double blind.

Blind to the world, Blind to himself.

Written as lyrical prose, poetry, and magical realism, SPOOR unfolds fragments from the main character’s past to gradually reveal the extent of what occurred.

The narrative weaves through Sam’s memories, capturing the emotional weight of his journey as he remembers the shadows from his childhood, and describes how he finds love in his adult life.

As Sam delves into his past, the reader is taken on a poignant exploration of the human psyche, where the boundaries between reality and memory blur.

The evocative and introspective prose creates a vivid sensory experience, drawing the reader into Sam’s world of fading vision and fragmented recollections.

The story’s magical realist elements, such as Sam’s interactions with the moon, add a layer of depth and mystery, making SPOOR a unique and affecting read. The story is infused with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of visual and emotional landscapes.

SPOOR will also be available as an e-book on Apple iBooks and Google Play Books
