?Sutak? means the twelve day mourning ritual. For Lalita, it lasted 24 years. This is the story of Lalita and Vinodini. Two sisters? Vinodini, people say, is of a ?loose? character. Lalita, her husband says, is frigid. Two sisters, two ?incomplete? women. Mother is dead. At the funeral, it becomes imperative that they confront each other. Women will realize their full potential only when they have a complete perception of their shared past. Will Lalita choose to reveal some bitter truths?
