It is well known that the integration of organic sources with inorganic offers a balanced supply of nutrients and improves soil quality. Higher rice productivity on a sustained basis can be obtained by judicious use of chemical fertilizers in combination with organic manures. Organic manures as a source of humus and plant nutrients needed to improve soil fertility and soil health. FYM, an easily available organic manure may improve the efficiency of applied fertilizers and also improves soil physical, chemical, and biological properties. The efficiency of nutrient use may be raised by the combined use of organic and inorganic fertilizers. Organic fertilizers not only act as the source of nutrients but also provide micronutrients and modify soil physicochemical behavior as well as increase the efficiency of applied nutrients.
