Akemi Tomoda
Japanese-Canadian Akemi Tomoda came to Canada as a bride in 1970. She did not speak a word of English. After her husband's death, she struggled alone in a new country. She joined a church group and began journaling as a way to learn English. With the help of friends and neighbours, and above all, her faith in God, she survived and thrived. She chronicles the part of these friends, angels of mercy, who she believes were sent by God to support her in her needs. Her journaling is her testimony to 'The Goodness of God' in her life. She has published this testimony in a trilogy entitled Akemi's Journal, Akemi's Journal 2, and this is the final volume Akemi's Journal 3. Akemi is a devout Christian and believes in faith in God, service to your neighbour and especially thanksgiving for everything God gives you. She lives in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
