Growing up "middle-class" in a small, rural midwestern town in the fifties and sixties, the most Ed could look forward to was a comfortable, quiet life ensconced from the world at large. But then came a transformational event that would forever change the trajectory of his life and take him on adventures-both inside and out-that he never could have imagined. This is a story in four acts-a small-town baby boomer raised in a troubled blended family; a "mescamorphosis" that would shake Ed from his slumber and take him far outside his comfort zone; an eventual emergence onto the world stage to participate in the creation of "practical magic;" and finally, a period to connect the dots...and create new ones.
