"Sara picked up the note, curious. Probably a few words from the management, she thought. She stared at it briefly, then, almost instantly, the color drained from her face. Sara put the note back on the table with a trembling hand, stood up and turned around. She found standing to be unusually difficult so she used the chair as a prop."

Having reached the peak of her acting career as well as some form of an emotional dead end, Sara Whitley decides to take her existence to the next, more purposeful level and boldly sets off from Beverly Hills for a European country that is going through the final throes of the civil war - by pledging her capital and her celebrity persona she hopes to help the stricken nation rise from the ashes. However, despite having taken all the measures of precaution applicable to someone of her stature, Sara winds up in an environment so hostile that even the seasoned men she accidentally unites with end up being severely tested. The extra accomplice, and quite esteemed at that, becomes a liability those men could have done without - the success of their mission that has very little to do with warfare and much to do with steering well clear of it rests entirely on their ability to remain obscured.

It takes Sara mere moments to enter a dimension where material wealth has no worth whatsoever. Raw grit, though, becomes the only currency she will need if she is to pull through.
