More Was Never Enough
Harry Gordon
Jacob Barrons was never satisfied. Despite his upbringing by loving parents, his adoption haunted him. Private schools, luxury vacations, and country club parties were never enough. "Jake" always wanted more. More money, more girls, and more to drink.
Jacob harbored a subconscious dread of abandonment. At a young age, he decided the best way to protect himself from vulnerability was to become wealthy. Rich. More than rich. His dream was to live a life of luxury, safe from any outside threats to his security and future aspirations.
Eventually, Jacob reached his lifetime financial goals. It wasn't enough. Money didn't help him feel any more secure or happy. Alcohol was his safety net. Women fed his need for affirmation.
Jacob found what he was looking for where he least expected it. Someone he could love and trust. Someone whose needs he could place ahead of his own. More Was Never Enough continues the Jacob Barrons story begun in Jackson Towers and unfolds as a tale of fear and ambition; success and failure; recovery and transformation.
