Perched on an island three miles from shore, McGinley's School for Girls has been the center of controversy for decades. One of the new arrivals, Sarita Teymouri, finds herself beginning a two-year sentence for manslaughter; the result of a plea deal. After one of the other new arrivals dies just before reaching the facility, Sarita becomes involved in a pact to hold the staff responsible. Her actions later attract both the attention of the school's headmistress and a group of inmates looking to escape. Certain she won't survive if she remains on the island, Sarita agrees to assist the other inmates. As the plan progresses, each of them find themselves in increasing danger. With the staff watching their every move, Sarita and the others must stay one step ahead if their plan is to succeed.
