Despair: the Screenplay
Randy Lofficier
In film and television, thousands of fine scripts by established writers are never produced. The Black Coat Script Library is dedicated to presenting some of those scripts. A man survives a car crash only to find himself trapped in a private clinic at the mercy of its lunatic owner, the terrifying DOCTOR DESPAIR. The Doctor seeks to use him as a pawn in a monstrous scheme of revenge against the wife who once betrayed him. The hero struggles to save her but in Dr. Despair's asylum, no one is ever sure of what is a lie and what is the awful truth. Jean-Marc & Randy Lofficier have co-authored five screenplays, a number of animation teleplays, including Duck Tales and The Real Ghostbusters, a dozen books and numerous comic books and translations. Randy is a member of the Writers Guild of America, West and Mystery Writers of America. Despair is an adaptation of a classic horror novel by renowned French author Marc Agapit (1897-1985).
