Modern Decorative Art
Maurice SR Adams
The 1920s and 30s were a period of looking to the future and the world of furniture design was no exception. Originally published in 1930, Modern Decorative Art reveals Maurice Adams' vision of modern, stylish and practical interiors for all kinds of homes. A craftsman with more than 25 years of experience in furniture design, Adams rejects the unnecessary ornamentation and heavy builds of previous decades in favour of the clean, simple lines that have endured to the present day. Illustrated throughout with photos and diagrams, Modern Decorative Art features over 200 designs for rooms, fixtures and fittings, showing the innovations of the time interpreted as real layouts. Essential reading for anyone interested in design history, interiors or 1920s and 30s style.
