The future for Britain's Princess Margaret represents a marked change from her past. For example, Margaret will not be heir to the throne much longer due to the impending birth of her nephew, and her memory, while sometimes still resembling Swiss cheese, is better than ever. However, there is one memory in particular she wants to erase. It haunts her, sometimes crowding out her other thoughts and rendering her breathless. Tessa Donovan, a detective in New York City, is the one person Margaret thinks can help, but Tessa doesn't want to get involved. Margaret refuses to take no for an answer.
