Iowa-born Jean Seberg was a gifted actress whose compassion for oppressed people led her to champion the struggle for civil rights in volatile 1960s. Targeted for her ideals by powerful government forces out of control, she was neutralized and ultimately destroyed. It is a story of the '60s which is as new as today and tomorrow. Jean Seberg deserves recognition as a martyr of the civil rights era.
