28 year old, single mother of two, Karma Sheffers, wakes up handcuffed to a hospital bed, and recovering from what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound to the belly. Her two sons, eight-year old, Kale, and five-year old, Kainen, appear to be missing. However, in Karma's garage, there's a bloody knife from her kitchen, and two pools of blood. Karma is subsequently charged with the disappearance and possible murders of her two sons. Detectives suspect that she murdered the boys, buried their bodies, and went back to the home and tried to kill her self. but failed. Everyone turns their back on Karma from her boyfriend, to her best friend, to her so called extended friends, and her employer. The only people she can seem to depend on are her mother and her cousin, Deon, or can she? In a world where the justice system fails African-Americans daily, Karma doesn't know who she can trust. She must navigate through troubled finances, family lies, generational curses, deceit from those she loves the most, battling undiagnosed depression, and finding things out about herself and others that she never knew. Through it all she must stand firm in her faith the best way that she knows how to find her babies, clear her name, and figure out the identity of the true suspect who wanted her dead and wants only god knows what with her kids.
