STOPLIGHT STORIES began as a challenge. Write one story for each letter of the alphabet, in order, with each tale taking up about the same amount of time as the average stay at a red stoplight. While the length of the stories sometimes exceeds those parameters, all 26 stories have been written and are presented for your enjoyment. From comedy to drama, and even science fiction and fantasy, these stories are great for a night of reading through, or for one at a time, whenever you have a moment. Stories include: Elephant: A teenager has proof that parents love her sister more than herself when she gets luggage for her birthday and her sister is gifted a circus elephant. Ice: A biographical tale based on the true story of a girl orphaned in the middle of a frozen lake, which became the basis for the FringeNYC featured play, "Parthenogenesis."Right on Red: A brief horror story about one moment of inattention. Trimester: A pregnant woman on bed rest watches her nervous husband dig up their backyard seeking signs of paleontological evidence. Yellowjackets: A science fiction tale set on a world where flying insects are used for games, and possibly weapons of mass destruction.
