Marcus tries to live an ordinary and responsible life as a civil engineer. He generally finds joys in little things and is excited to soon become a father. However, he is plagued by obsessive thoughts which evolve like pathogens, he is restless and unsettled. Over time he has become a crude and condescending cynic in a world he feels provides knowledge and information without context or depth. Often, he cannot help but chase the avenues his mind sends him on in search for something different and genuine, out of the ordinary behind the filter screens. Anxious and faced with the daunting prospect that he is doomed to spend the rest of his life in such an unproductive and frustrating way he cannot believe his 'luck' when one of his obsessive searches uncovers more than he ever bargained for in the form of secret knowledge, hidden societies and the cause and reason for one of life's greatest mysteries. And nothing and no one is what they used to seem.
