Mud Creek
Kelly Ferguson
After a tragic accident, Jessie, twelve, finds his world unraveling. His father, Bully, blames himself and turns to heavy drink. Alice Fae, his mother, struggles to keep the family together. An old country doctor, Doc Grasson, befriends young Jessie and offers him a bundle of Civil War books. Jessie becomes obsessed with his reading and with a southern artillery officer, Major John Pelham. Jessie slips more and more into the past, while his present-day reality (the hills of Mississippi in 1954) becomes more destructive. Take a wild ride with the characters of Mud Creek in a page turning Southern historical fiction thriller you will not want to end. Enjoy.
