M G Lewis
M. G. Lewis was an English author who later became known as "Monk" Lewis due to his wildly popular novel The Monk. The book was published in 1796 and is notable for both the elements of horror as well as the scandalous plot. The book is still considered to be one of the greatest Gothic novels ever written.
