Society is in the grips of a devastating pandemic. Individuals, and culture as a whole, are being overwhelmed by an epidemic of ills they are unable to understand and are struggling to deal with. It is manifest in the flood of depression, despair, mania, fear, hopelessness and suicides which characterize people and society today.
