Patrick Doyle, retired minder, rogue confidence trickster, finds himself in trouble again. He reunites with an old school friend who has inherited the throne of a small South Pacific Island. His friend tells Patrick of recent threats to his life and fears that there is a plot against him. He cannot trust those surrounding him and offers Patrick a large amount of money to fly back to the Island with him and help sort out the problem. Patrick agrees, and soon finds himself involved in murder and mystery, with his own life in danger.
