Skyland

In Book One, Alexis Ann Spanarkel is on the lam - fleeing vengeful Simon Everjohn followers known as Disrupters. She assumes an alias, Ramona Uva Rodgers, after an extended stay with her handlers in Charlotte, N. C. She begins her odyssey in Little Havana to orient herself with the Hispanic culture she'll encounter. Next comes Havana, Cuba, where she meets a gigolo, Juan; and then La Paz, Bolivia, where she falls in love with Tega, a tattoo artist and political activist. When Tega runs afoul of government officials and must leave Bolivia, Ramona flies to Buenos Aires; and later takes up residence in the seaside town of Pinamar, Argentina, where a twist in fate awaits her. In Book Two, Alexis is back as herself and is drawn into a twofold web of intrigue involving Skylandia, a peaceful haven for dreamers to live out their last days. But there's trouble in Paradise. Disrupters are creating turmoil in an attempt to merge Nightmare Alley, a den of iniquity in Dreamland, with Skyland's Utopian atmosphere. Alexis teams with local detective, Harris Callahan, who also is a dream docent, to resolve Skylandia's woes and to solve the murder of a founding member of Skyland.
