The Parable of the Prodigal Son is found in the text of the New Testament, in Luke 15:11-32 to be exact. It was told by Jesus to His followers to illustrate God's love and forgiveness, even when one would abandon the security and blessings God has bestowed, to follow a fallen "wisdom" over that which God has provided. It is illustrative of a common theme woven throughout the Bible, starting with Adam and Eve, through the Tower of Babel, to the doubting Israelites in the wilderness ... and even to the present day.
