The level of commitment God demands from followers of Jesus is very familiar to what is experienced by those engaged in full-blown addiction. In salvation there is the call to leave everything else behind and to wholeheartedly and unreservedly follow Jesus. Although there are many who seem to follow Jesus in only a casual way, the true follower of Jesus will follow Jesus with such abandon that he will appear to be addicted to Jesus. This volume discusses the parallels in addiction and being a follower of Jesus. It presents some of the texts in the Bible that make it clear that the follower of Jesus is to be wholeheartedly committed to Jesus now to the same extent he was previously committed to his addiction.
