A computer nerd, James Coleman, experiences a midlife crisis and decides to move his family "up north" to northern Minnesota for the summer in order to live a more adventurous life. Everything works out better than expected until he hears a mysterious scream coming from deep in the woods late one night. Haunted by the scream, James begins an investigation that reveals a lot of strange happenings in the north woods. He soon realizes that his family is in imminent danger and tries to extricate them from the situation. But is it too late?
