Glorious Covenant

Publisher Marketing: Intro to Glorious Covenant God's people in ancient times were on a journey. They were heading somewhere. So are we. The church today is on a journey; from bondage to freedom; from law to grace. A few in the Old Testament like Abraham and David knew the final destination while others stumbled along. As we read the story of salvation (God and people coming together in relationship) we notice God works on the level of the people. He meets them in their experience and culture and moves them forward. It is a long journey. From Abraham to Jesus was several thousand years. There are high times and low times. Times of great celebrations and seasons of doubt and exile. Men like David jumped beyond their times and experienced God in extraordinary ways. They used God's Laws not as limitations but as a springboard to the future. Then, there are times when rebellion against the rules becomes so strong God uses severe discipline. The core structure which connects the generations is covenant. God uses covenant to move his people closer to the final goal. God is a God of covenants. Christians have a covenant. This covenant was established over 2,000 years ago by Jesus. Sadly many Christians are only vaguely aware of this glorious covenant and the freedoms it brings. This must change and my hope is these pages will assist many on their personal journey to freedom.
