I'm Special Too
Andre Renee Harris
Niyah is excited about her upcoming birthday! Every year her parents plan something special. She sees them whispering and smiling to one another, so she begins to think, "My party is going to be awesome." The next day Niyah and her parents load into the car for what she believes is a party planning appointment. It's not but instead, they arrive at a doctor's office. Niyah parents announced that she will be a big sister soon. This news saddens Niyah. After seeing the disappointment on Niyah's face, they explained, "you and your new sibling will be equally loved, you are special too."
*This book is great for helping with disappointment and welcoming a new sibling.
