The Rose Weapon

It's been ten years since the fire beast last attacked Kilbo, a small, coastal viking village. Hosperan, the young chief-to-be, must try his best to suppress the memories from the last time the beast attacked, when it killed the chief... Hosperan's father.
Now, Hosperan must figure out how to manage his conflicting beliefs about why the fire beast exists and what he should do about it. With the village against him, Hosperan turns to his deceased father's legacy to guide him.
The Rose Weapon is a coming of age story that uses the hero's journey framework to explore the difference between having radical ideas, and acting on those radical ideas.
