After a near death experience, attempted suicide, Kathy wants to die and stay dead so she can be with her baby who tragically died in a house fire. Although she's learned that the spiritual world doesn't approve of suicide, she's planning another attempt. Clarence is one of the spirit guides who travels back and forth from heaven to earth to assist Kathy. Clarence is in a power struggle with three other spiritual beings. He wants to stay in heaven and play with the heavenly orchestra, but he must return to earth to help Kathy. If he can learn to materialize he can stop Kathy from killing herself.
