Donnie Diamond has been homeless for three years when a violent act causes him to rethink his life. Shocked out of his complacency, he decides that he wants to attempt to reconcile with his wife and teen daughter and make his way back into society as a responsible man. In order to claw his way up out of the ditch, he must face his own demons, and he must become a begin a serious and painstaking attempt to become a functioning member of society again. He must toe the line and overcome his own failures and convince his wife and daughter to let him back into their hearts. Donnie is up to the task, but his ex-wife has written him off and his daughter is missing. In addition to overcoming problems of his own making, there is another obstacle standing in his way of re-entering what he and his homeless friends call 'polite society' . . . in the form of a serial killer that is stalking and killing homeless persons in Dallas, and the killer now has his sights set on Donnie and his friends.
