He said that before he died he had discovered that he had cancer and that it couldn't be treated. He told me that had he not died in the car accident he would have suffered for many months. He was more afraid of suffering than of dying, and, as it turned out, he was spared from that." Whether or not Uncle Dan believed me, he nodded his head as if he did.
