It is Cox's contention that for too long religious leaders have misinterpreted God's Word and presented Biblical sources as the authority on male dominance over women, in the church and outside as well. The book is intended to encourage women to re-examine their position, to gain insight and strength from a closer inspection of God's own assessment of woman's worth.
