Vesper is a 17 year old who is tired of his surroundings, tired of being powerless, and tired of not being spontaneous. When he meets the beautiful Nunki and her friends, who seem to have powers that are beyond human, he instantly feels like he has found an answer to his problems and runs away with them for the summer. He quickly learns that they are using a book to become temporarily possessed by demons to gain their super human abilities. This comes with a heavy price however and one that can not always be survived. Ultimately this first of the trilogy is about the struggle against light over darkness, strength over weakness, but not just on a spiritual level, also on an emotional one as well. This is a story about love and addiction with a very dark twist and as the group starts to become submerged into their world they may be failing to see that there is a bigger, more sinister force at work. One teacher response: "It was definitely young adult. You mastered the action and adventure portions. So many twists and turns made me want to rush through on the first read. I'm not sure where you have Nunki and loverboy ending up at the end of your series. All in all its going to be a best seller in my opinion!"
