Self-help for the Food Addict (Workbook)

Publisher Marketing: For many, food addictions can be one of the most difficult to overcome. You can stop consuming alcohol and/or illegal drugs. You can stop using tobacco. You can stop viewing pornography. You can stop gambling. You can completely stop and overcome all of these things and live a very healthy, happy, productive life. You cannot completely stop consuming food calories in some form, without dying. This book is designed for the person who just needs to lose a few stubborn pounds and develop a more healthy lifestyle and also for the "food addict." Though Food Addictions may not be clinically recognized, per se', some people with severe eating problems may have what is classified as a Feeding and Eating Disorder, such as Binge-Eating Disorder or another. Just because someone eats too much though, does not mean they have a clinical eating disorder. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition (DSM-5), "binge-eating disorder is distinct from obesity." I was often a binge eater, especially in times of greater stress and depression. Whether you have a diagnosable eating disorder though is not the issue. The bottom line is this...it can be really difficult for some people to control their eating. For many people, this book can help. Contributor Bio:  Petersen, Jasmine The Five Habits of Weight Loss Success (The Five Habits) is based on my own experience and the research of many which allowed me to lose 115 pounds, after struggling for over 30 years. I am now able to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. The Five Habits have helped me get off medication for diabetes, and almost off medication for high blood pressure. My A1C as last measured in the fall of 2014 was 5.0 and all my blood work was within normal limits for someone my age and gender. (A1C represents a person's average blood sugar levels over the previous 3 months and less than 7.0 is considered a good goal.)
