In Michael's first kids' story, Grandpa's Magic Beard, Grandma was always on Grandpa's case about his wild imagination. According to Grandpa, he and his two granddaughters went into a magic world in his beard. In Jaycob's Magic Spaceship, Grandpa is at it again. This time, Grandpa and Grandson, Jaycob, are off on a trip to Mars in Jaycob's Magic Spaceship while Grandma is at a ladies' meeting. Grandma still believes that all these adventures are just a result of an overactive imagination, but Jaycob and Grandpa know better. Believe it or not, they even have a few space rocks to show that they visited Mars.

Michael Parlee lives with his wife, Pauline, in Bowden, Alberta. He has written three other adult novels: Tanya, Son of Sister Maria, and We Must Forgive to Live.
