The Long Engagement W. S. Haggard 1e uitgave

At forty-three, Susan Hawke is forced to reinvent her life after a bitter divorce. With three children and very little help from her ex-husband or family, she finds herself juggling two jobs just to keep her head above water. Just when she seems to have found a comfortable groove, she receives a Facebook message from the alumni director of the college in Switzerland she attended in the early eighties. Within minutes, Susan is back in touch with Garrett Kessler, her first love. The memories of their poignant years together come rushing back as the two get reacquainted through text messages, e-mails and phone calls. Susan is forced to work through her past and present feelings - to understand why the relationship didn?t work out all those years ago, and to decide if it might be worth a second try. The Long Engagement is a story about choices and regrets, and how we often live our lives to please others instead of trusting and following our own hearts. It will force its readers to ask themselves the question: what would you do if you had a second chance at first love?
