Sam Fields grew up in a small town in upstate New York, with her father the police chief for years, the family always thought that she would make the perfect detective with her eidetic memory. But that wasn't in her plans, after quitting college she decided that a bigger city would satisfy her more, stopping in Boston she wound up being a police officer until the night that her partner was shot in a burglary gone bad. Going to work for a large movie studio, she loved her job as a stunt woman until an accident and she was demoted to gopher. Becoming fast friends with a handsome LA detective, the chemistry just wasn't there for anything more, Sam thought she had the perfect life until she went to a party at a producers house and her world started to unravel. Between having to cater to friends of the boss and then finding a body in the storage locker at work, Sam's world started to disintegrate. Finding the body of her a co-worker and talking to the murderer while he remained in the shadows, she wondered what else was going on behind the scenes on the studio lot. It wasn't long before she found out that movies weren't the only illusion on the studio. There were more than props stored in the lockers on the lot, and unfortunately she was the one finding it. After a kidnapping attempt on her friend Abby, being held captive, having another encounter with the murderer from the shadows, Sam longs for her small hometown again. Even the old friend from New York that she runs into turns out to be more than he appears to be with a secret that even the best screen writer couldn't come up with.
