She was ten that spring, the last time she was in my home and now seems a lifetime ago. I can see her so vividly with her cousin, sitting Indian style on my living room floor with such serious intent absorbing photo album after photo album. Megan enjoyed recalling events and Krissy asked questions to clarify or to reestablish her own memories of the pictures before her. She appeared to store them away and I wonder if she somehow knew that she would be forbidden to return.
