Trapping the Flow
Janeck Galloise
Jake, a Psychiatrist living in 2036, sees his client portfolio exploding with unhappy twenty somethings. The modern world, as he sees it, has become a comfort-orientated society bereft of actual enjoyment hence he defines Flow as the feeling of enjoyment and Trapped as its polar opposite and since when trapped we seek comfort; ergo, according to Jake all society is trapped. On this basis he has set about developing a critically acclaimed self-help guide, entitled his Scale of Perception. Jakes brother Gregg, whilst also preoccupied with claiming to be haunted by a nomad, optimises these social ills that Jake so loathes. From a malformed product of society he becomes a product of Jake and his work-in-progress Scale of Perception.
